H1N1 Strain Not Found on Mexican Hog Farm

    Dear Charlie,

Hogs didn't cause the 'Swine Flu'?

"H1N1 Strain Not Found on Mexican Hog Farm --

Mexican agriculture officials have confirmed the H1N1 influenza strain did not originate at a Smithfield Foods hog farm. Media speculation centered on the Veracruz farm, but the Agriculture Ministry indicates the pigs on the farm tested negative for the virus. While the news was welcomed by the National Pork Producers Council, CEO Neil Dierks says the damage from the mislabeled 'swine' flu has been done. Before H1N1, pork producers were losing money, but the market outlook was improving. When the wrong terminology was used to describe H1N1, Dierks said prices went south and producer losses nearly doubled."
