    Say What!!

"Canola futures were down because of good planting weather coming up this weekend". 1st canola should be mostly planted by now, if not it is late and 2nd it's still freezing every night which is never a good thing.

That statement just confuses me a little.

because whatever happens they have to sound like they understand what's happening and offer up a rationale. dennis gartman made some amusing comments about this last fall on bnn.

Most people who trade our product dont have a clue as on the crop. Nothing. Freezing till the 20th every night is not a good thing. Why then is voluntary canola gone in all our fields. Yea it froze off. Trade and so called experts for various agencies (CWB SASK AG AND FOOD ETC) are the problem. Give the city people hope all is well.

Perhaps they were implying that there was good weather in the states for planting soybeans which might then drop canola too?

Nope, they were talking about western Canada. I have no problem with seeding Argentine canola up to the 25th but it still puts things on the late side. Does anyone even grow Polish canola anymore? White frost here this morning.

Its not cwb or Sask Ag and food who are giving these statements- they know better- its reporters from cbot and the like

How much of farmers money did the folks(CWB) mus says 'know better' blow playing the futures markets again last year?

Oh yes, $226 million in the pool accounts and $89 million in the PPO's.
