We have Update the Agri-ville Servers - Is it any Faster?

    Hi everyone:

Sorry it has taken so long to upgrade the website servers...we tried to do it once before but could not get it to work any better than the old servers.

This time the tech team seemed to figure it out and with the bigger memory and faster processing it should improve the performance...

There still may be some bugs because the Agri-ville website programming is still relatively old so if you find it is not working please let me know and we will try to fix it.

    Thanks again for you help,

    Joe Dales

A bit faster loading on desktop and turning pages, with XP Professional IE.7

Didn't try on third backup computer. Pars

Way faster right now. It has been crazy sluggish on my blackberry (timed out over 1/2 the time).
The true test will be the first day it rains and we are all surfing instead of working. (anybody else think its freaking dry, no winter moisture to speak of, blah blah blah, I blame the CWB, blah blah blah.)

I use Google Chrome and keep getting a
message "This site may be harmful to
your computer" Doesn't do it on
              Explorer.

Something a bit wonky with the dates on the list at beef production. It says there are June 2 posts and click in and there are only June 1 posts. Some of the posts say June 3 but I am sure we haven't arrived there yet. It is faster although it was frustratingly slow for quite awhile. I do however thank you for your work on the site. It is an asset to the Ag community.

                  Thanks Everyone.

Parsley - we will have a look to see what is going on for Vista.

Not sure what is going on with Google Chrome - it should not give that warning....it might be a Vista issue?

This will help the Tech Guys make some additional adjustments...

I am just really happy that we have it on a better server - the other one was really struggling.

We did have to add a little more RAM to handle the traffic - we will keep an eye on this for the heavy traffic days.

Now we can focus on fine tuning and fixing some of the software bugs.

Thanks again, Day one is usually the most difficult.

                  Joe

I scrolled down to a post with over 50 replies and got a 5 second load time vs way to long before. I am sure this will increase site traffic
                      thanks
