Just off the phone with fortuna ND and could lock in Durum for fall at 3 dollars more than the CWB new Program. Could sell my old durum dumped in pit for way more money. Isnt it time Canadian farmers said Good bye to the CWB just like GM and got on with life. This Useless organization costs me money lots of money. It costs all farmers huge dollars. I dont see the US farmers told they have to hold over most of their Durum to protect our high paying customers. HEll we are being taken for a ride and the ride is getting very boring.

It's way past time. It is amazing to me that people who do this for a living making decisions on constantly changing conditions and variables both with inputs and agronomically are afraid of change. Come on folks, time to jump out of the box. We're squandering years. I would like to give life without the CWB a go before my life ends.

Why not have CWB contracts that you sign up for. Those who sign up are with the CWB and the ones who don't are on there own pretty simple. I just can't make sense of this crap its your crop why do they get control over it. thats like saying there is a salary cap at the CWB and nobody can make over $ 60000.00 a year. They would cry if that ever happened. YOUR hard work and grain pays for all there wages and all the top guys bonuses and high salaries.
Why is agriculture the poorest ran industry on earth . Look at the crap each farmer has to go through to get a crop and make a dollar and yet we can't survive without them. I wish wal-mart would sell fertilizer and chemical then you would see the industry smarten up. I guess they think the more difficult they can make it on you guys the more they can make.
I don't think the CWB should be gone just the choice to be with them or not and if not it aint a crime to do so. I guess Canada is only a free conutry if you don't have a crop of wheat.

Let the producers who do not want to be part of the CWB actually market thier grain and not price it into the US market.

You see farmers like to farm, they love the land, the machines, the process, the talk, the challenge, and by the required nature accept the challenges in stride.
And yes the same group that will shop cash crops in order to insure they have a good deal, will accept wheat and durum with a minimum price spread of $1.00 less, more lately.
They accept this cause they really just love to farm, and in some ways we seemingly accept the lowest common denominator because it is at least common.
Which is why no one has stormed the Bastille despite the largest opportunity cost to the farmers last year, and very likely this year too.
But really there is nothing new, the only differnce is now the Weber commodity news letter which compares pricing between Ontario, the US, and the CWB lets us read everyday the price differences (Frig, I forgot those are different markets right?!).
And like the Emporer with no clothes we hate to admit we have been that stupid.
