August 5 full moon and 20Th new moon!

Frost on the 5Th and no need to worry about getting the combines out. Peas would be even damaged. Now the 20Th peas would make and some barley and oats, Durum would be crap, Hrs would be ugly feed. Canola and flax would be bad. Some seeds not much.
Weather pattern keeps throwing these lows from north that temps drop, 30 today then 19 Tuesday.
Hopefully first frost is September 18 not the 4Th.
Oh well that's mother nature all the planning and marketing and wishing wont make a crop, Mother nature knows that.
Funny in our area guys keep giving it all to this crop, one guy didnt even go check for midge sprayed 5000 plus acres of wheat by plain. Were in a no midge area on map and last nights checking turned up basically no midge. It was a calm warm night. Go figure.
Back in 04 one guy was spraying for Disease up to two days before the big frost.
Oh well at least the Chem reps and fert dealers will have a great year.

Under the cool temp at night , under 10C, there is little development of some diseases or midge. I thought midge needed 20C at night at flowering to develop. We can barely get to 20 in the daytime.

If you see any midge or spray, what color area are you on this map? Wonder how accurate it is. http://www.cwb.ca/public/en/farmers/weather/midge/pdf/2009wheatmidgeriskforecast.pdf

I am in the blue also and some early planting have been sprayed. I have not checked yet as not at the stage yet.
Sask.? How is earth one doing? I would think if they are living up to their name they should check before spraying.
