    thalpenny,

I am concerned that you folks still do not understand who you serve.

If everyone stopped trading grain, why in every other product except CWB pricing options was I given the opportunity to sell, if it was my choice during the turmoil last week?

These questions must be asked, and your Sept 11 statement said you would still do C$ transactions.

THAT you are shocked about the terror you distribute across western Canada, shows you obviously do not understand the full impact of the power your organisation contains.

That freedom to chose with whom I must associate with, and do business with, is within your power to change cannot be disputed.

Every tonne of wheat and barley that moves from Canada must recieve an export license from you.

That your organisation chooses to crush individual freedom of "designated area" grain producers whom need not have anything to do with the CWB, the grain handling system, and the Canadian grading system is a very sad state of affairs.

That your CWB gives me nightmares, and terrorizes myself and other "designated area" grain producers cannot be disputed.

Just ask Andy M., David S., David B., and even Jake H.

That your freinds at 423 main have destroyed our faith in the Canadian Justice system cannot be disputed either.

I hold none of these things personally against anyone at the CWB, you are simply doing your job.

I am deeply concerned however that by continuing this abuse on the freedom of western Canadians, your are not only destroying our trust in Canada, but as well destroying your future as a trustworthy business partner whom I should want to do business with, if you become honest and straight with those whom you are supposed to serve.

Please understand one person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter.

Tom, please understand freedom is simply a state of mind, and you of all people should know that western Canadian grain producers are the most freedom loving kind people on the face of this planet.

Now please give us credit and allow us to make our own decisions, instead of having a vote and instituting a policy decision that destroys my neighbours farm.

Freedom of choice to be able to allow the CWB to market our wheat or barley, or the choice to market our own products if we freely choose, is the only system that will not destroy either one or another of my neighbours freedom.

Please put yourself in our shoes, and try to understand the principal behind what is happening out here.

No one should have the right to vote on destroying his neighbours farm, should he?

Hey TOM4CW. I will not claim to dislike the CWB more than you. For my business it would be great if they disappeared tomorrow.
You are right, you are trying to make a living in one of the most highly regulated and ignored industries in Canada and you do not have a level playing field. You appear to be very well read and know what you are talking about.
But do not loose track of what is more important right now and that is the 5000 people that went to work and won't be coming home.
Next week your concerns will be more relevant but not right now and in the text you are responding.

        Rain,

        I appreciate your comments however;

If we do not learn and create something positive out of this horrendus situation, then these people died in vain.

I know every time an accident happens I take a long hard look, to see if there is something I can learn from it.

Always we can learn from some one elses mistake, and hopefully then we will not repeat it.

The US is not lily white and totally innocent, and I am not saying these people deserved to die, they of course did not deserve to die.

My only hope is that the US will learn something, which may be in vain, but I hope not.

This world has become a very small place, and if we do not treat each other with respect, and appreciate each other, we will instead draw the worst in human nature out of each other.

I hope this discussion can be part of the solution bringing healing and forgiveness to our nation, so that when this type of shocking situation occurs we can learn and become better people.

I am sure this would be an honourable objective and atribute in honour of the 6000 who died and the families who will suffer for the rest of their lives because of the dishonourable and disgusting actions of some bitter, discouraged, and sick people.

This is a time of reflection and soul searching for every one of us, I pray positive and a building spirit will make Canada and the rest of our world a better place.

Can we take this challenge and build a better tomorrow (for neighbours both near and far), and not disentigrate tomorrow into World War III?

Do you not agree it is this serious of a situation?

            Rain,

You are a kind person, hope we can discover new and positive ways to look at this world, over the next while.

We just had an inch of rain today, only 1/3 done harvest, but at least we have a crop to harvest in the Edmonton area.

This sure is an interesting fall, no shortage of time to think about why we grow food for a hungry world!

              Tom,
Your hubris has consummed you and you've lost the direction of your capabilities. Somehow, I sense that you go to bed at night feeling much, much more in sync with Bin Laden than with the rest of your neighbors. In the aftermath of what took place in America, for the CWB to swing its' purse and peddle our grain would have been not only an insult to our southern neighbors, in this time of grief, but to people like myself as well. If you found a hungry hound consummed by the desire to do business and take advantage of this terrible event, then I have nothing but sympathy for both them, and unfortunately, for you. May we all learn something. The resolution to bring justice to this crime against humanity will require the collective will of the entire free world to work together and support one another, for united we stand, divided we fall, regardless of how well we did at playing games on pretend commodity trading floors, Tom. This might be a good time for silence and deep retrospection; reflect on what you have, and not occupy yourself of thoughts of what you may think you have been denied.

                Rockpile,

Glad to see you back again!!!

I wonder when you will admit that the CWB as run today is here to reinforce the world system that created the New York and Washington Disasters?

Chretien and Martin finance all CWB activities, WHY?

Do you really think it is because they care about western Canada?

If you do, I have some oceanfront property in Killam I could sell you!!!

The CWB does not wipe their noses without Canadian Government approval.

Have a look at what happened to Canadian Gerald Bull(creater of Saddams Doomsday Gun before being assinated in March of 1990) and he thought the free world was his freind too.

I am concerned that the CWB is spending millions of your and my final payments reinforcing a Monopoly that hurts both you and I every day.

Rockpile, government sanctioned terrorism is as bad as any other terrorism, isn't it?

                How can wrong be right?

Can't you agree to let me be, and let me be responsible for myself?

Or do I owe you something, a free lunch?

                  Tom,
No Tom, not a free lunch. How about we share a fair lunch?

                    Rockpile,

If you will allow my farm the freedom to manage its assets, then I would be glad to work with you privately to make both of our specific farms more profitable, on a one to one basis!

Getting the CWB to force us to do business just recks everything!

Wouldn't freely given help be the loving fair and honest way to do business in a free and democratic country that actually values the word "FREEDOM"?

Isn't this one reason the US is in trouble, they have not respected other's freedom at times?

                      Tom,
Nope, it's because they have been consummed by their version and interpretation of 'freedom', and have tried to impose that vision on to others who have a much different understanding and value system, much like you would like to do. That vision implies the right to 'organize' things that give particular advantage to some over others. The benefits accrued to one do not outway the good and opportunity to all, if in fact 'freedom' is to be valued and to have substance to it's meaning.
