OH & S comes to the farm

It’s official – last week CFIB received a letter from the provincial government notifying us that the
consultation to possibly extend Occupational Health & Safety legislation to farm workers in Alberta has
begun. Submissions are due on September 30, 2009.

I would pay attention to this. Occupational Health and Safety is based on process, documentation and due diligence. Something that if isn't part of your business practices today, it will be in the future. Something that could be a liability issue if you fall outside the OHS legislation and have an employee injured on the job.

I take an OHS day on sunday. Nobody works, nobody gets hurt.

Charlie you are right. Considering Ag Farms are one of the statistically more dangerous places to work and have no ohs, a lot will change.
