    Finally

We're off like a pack of turtles.

First day of combining. Canola that got knocked back by the frost but didn't get reseeded. Yield is nothing special but looks like I made the right call not reseeding it.

Dusty as all get out and the straw isn't quite dry yet in places.

Five minutes in I was already reaching for the duct tape. It's gonna be a long fall.

I was wondering how you had so much time to respond to the GMO posts.

Stay safe and don't take shortcuts even though it is the middle of Sept.

Fransisco Your seeing what we have frost hurt the crop and it never really recovered to max potential. One field by ours was seeded a week later than me he has beautiful crop ours OK. Reseeded field will maybe make it its starting to change color and fill. No big big yield either. Barley is doing like last year. Almost.

On the plus side I'm in love with the Blackberry I picked up a few weeks ago. When I get home I don't need to spend more than five minutes on the computer. It used to be at least an hour every night if I wanted to stay current on things.

They call it a crack berry for a reason I am always checking it. My kids say to me dad but your blackberry down and dad step away from it slowly. HA HA HA.

I know the feeling. If we're watching TV and a comercial comes on, I'm on the berry checking up on things.

A cool little app I put on it the other day is one that turns it into a flashlight. Perfect thing for walking through the tree's seperating our work yard from our house, late at night.

She is a tuff grind swathing canola here, made the mistake of planting it on pea stubble sprayed with Odyssey. One hell of a crop where she is nice but then there are thin green patches where the chemical burn is bad. 2 swathers one going around the clock and still only getting 350 acres a day done, she is leaning over so bad in places and green leaning over stuff is not fun to swath. I am on the graveyard shift. Still guessing 35 on that stuff. But combining is a ways away. Maybe even the last quarter planted on June 4 will make it now.

Hopper our one on June 15 might make it. Starting to turn. Has seeds probably will be one of highest yielders if it makes it. Time will tell. This area has every thing from PS poor to excellent. Sandy area to west has huge amounts of rain some of the nicest crops i have ever seen.
