Don't people ever learn not to sell during harvest? Price before or price after, but don't get caught up in the panic.

It's odd, but when I cautioned people not to get caught up in the "new paradigm" hype, I was slagged as being a pessimist and hating farmers. And SF3, you were one of the loudest.

Zap I said all along from the day of the price boom back in Feb of 08. Prices increased on all our inputs almost magically overnight. They were yapping their is a shortage of this and that and the sky is the limit. I said it was all BS. Read the posts. As for this crop all along its a average. Now D A V E, I am talking how most farmers feel in general. Its all a big game, No i don't like the CWB hell they need to go,Farmers who sell in Fall are always going to get skinned one way or another. Look at Flax the world price dropped maybe 1.00 yet the grain companies are dropping their price by 3. dollars.
D A V E no I am not pst because I didn't pre sell at the top. I am pst that all farmers were screwed by the companies for their BS shortages and scare tactics, I am pst at the crappy information that countries dish out about their yields etc.

Legalized theft from both sides. The input suppliers have to set new records every year for their shareholders and the end users want to have dirt cheap supplies so they can do their scalping. It's all about the economy.Nobody gives 2 shits about the peasant actually doing all the work.Sick thing is it's only going to get worse.

            Country Guy......

Where do you put your neighbours in that rant? By neighbours I mean the local fertilizer/chemical/fuel dealer, (who has to buy, sell, and store products) and you next door farmer neighbour that competes for land rent? Or who grows and tries to sell his product in the same market as you do?

On that not too..... for all of us, we are all "input supplies" that have to compete too with our buyers. Be they the India peoples for our lentils/peas, or the baker for our wheat.

We're all in this together and we are all quilty of wanting to buy low and sell high, all in the game of trying to maximize our bottom line?
