    Current Canola Basis Levels?

What canola basis levels is everyone being offered? In my ivory tower in Edmonton, I am hearing everything from $20 over to $20 under so am confused.

If you are being offered a good basis, I would look as a selling opportunity. Have had a few calls from people who are concerned about their green seed content and unloading into bins at 25 degrees plus. If you are concerned about storage/heating, you have more incentive to sell early. If you are bullish (do your homework and think things out), consider a replacement strategy.

Will sneak this question in. Why do we spend so much time on these threads talking about reducing input costs but very few talk about marketing better to improve returns?

Good point. Better marketing if often the key to
better profits. So many of us are always worried
about saving a couple of bucks on inputs that we
over look that even a small increase in the price
we sell our products for will give us a larger
return especially if the savings on the inputs are
gained by cutting back on certain inputs which
can have a negative affect on yields.

Southern Sask the Range is -1 Nov to 18 Under... Spot delivery Basis Levels have widened to -20 under. Why Everyone is plugged and Canola deliveies are high because we cant sell anything else.
