Here's a few tips from Agri-Web Services and CRCS on how to put a lid back on Spam! Resist the temptation to fire back an angry reply! This let's them know they have a live warm body at this e-mail address. Set up your e-mail program to filter incoming mail. Rules Wizard in Microsoft Outlook 2000 sends my Spam instantly into my Junk senders list- and guess what gets deleted daily! Forward Spam to the Spam Recycling Centre http://www.spamrecycle.com which catalogues spammers and helps to develop anti-spam software. Here are Six Steps to Stop Spam adapted from the Spam Recycling Centre. 1. Never respond to Spam 2. Posting your e-mail adddress on your personal website is an invitation to spammers. Use a feedback form instead. 3. Use a second e-mail address in newsgroups. This makes it's much easier to filter your e-mail. 4. Don't give your e-mail address without knowing how it will be used. Read web site privacy statements. Ask yourself, are they going to use my e-mail address or sell it? Do I want e-mails from this Web site? Do I trust its administrators? 5. Use a Spam Filter. Anti-spam software can help keep the flood of spam down to a manageable level. 6. Never buy anything advertised in Spam.
