Canola Performance Trials Coming soon. Really?

Given that about 80% of the seed roughly is already sold, isn't it kinda pointless that the trials are "Coming soon"?

who told you that 80% is already sold. If they did they where are full of shit or lying.

Well how many farmers have still to buy the top varieties?

80% of the top varieties may be sold out, but "top varieties" only make up about 50% of the market.
Last year was a big year seed wise and when one sees the amount of returned seed in just one warehouse from one company there will be a flood of seed for sale. Hence some DKL selling for less than $6. Some cheap deals out there, just be carefull what you buy. Ask questions.

Do you really need trial data to buy the last 50% then? Seems the farmer doesn't really care what the yield is if not already bought or at least booked.

well if you have bought/booked the top varieties not sure what the issue is?The data is from small plots and not always indicative of conditions on a farm scale size...its a good guide. You need to grow them on your farm to determine which is the best fit for your operation and field conditions...any information is good information and may help you tweak your seeding plans

I believe it is a combination of company field scale and small plot.

Its kinda crazy how close the yields are getting on the L's, 7345, and H29. Not statistically much diff anyways. Seems it comes down to which chemistry do you want to spray - group 1 and libery or Glyphosate.
