Japan's MAFF raises average price of imported wheat by 30%

TOKYO, JAPAN — The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) announced on Feb. 15 that it would raise the average price of imported wheat by 30% to 69,120 yen ($641) per tonne from April. This is a response to the sharp increase in the international price of wheat.
