    CDC Titanium VB

    Limited supplies last year....
    Anyone try this stuff?
Only midge resistant wheat with a MR rating for fusarium.
The rest of the "package" is nothing to write home about.
Maybe AAC Prevail or Jatharia with an intermediate resistant fusarium rating would be a better choice.
But then again I don't know why I grow wheat..... because it is the best cereal fit on our farm versus oats and barley and canaryseed. Maybe grow a different class?

I just noticed Durum now has two midge resistant varieties. Is the drier parts of the Palliser Triangle have midge problems?

that's the one I was talking about when I got shot down by Tom . we asked for some , they won't even give us a price , but for sure past $20 bu. and the guys that grew it here said it was worse than all the other varieties for fusarium , including unity .so not sure why we should want to pay 20-25$ bu for wheat that has no fus res . like I said upov at work . oh and I am supposed to remember that unity is not taken out , just reclassified to a worthless feed wheat . what a f$&ing crock of shit

Fusarium has become a real problem here. Obviously last year we never had any issues in the drought-like conditions but I'm not "that" stupid to think if conditions are conducive that it won't rear it's ugly head again...

There are no silver bullets, hopefully we can tell each other what varieties worked best for them. We had Shaw...worked good for midge but seemed too susceptible to fusarium. We now have Cardale...no midge resistance but is "rated" good for fusarium.

Shit!!!...pick your battle! Too many fronts to fight on to win the war, I'm going to lose some battles when it comes to wheat.

I would rather spray for fuzz than midge..Less toxic chemical..

Agreed Partners but I think midge won't decimate the crop as bad as fusarium can.

Crazy....last year perfect wheat.....the year before feed and three and durum graded something I never heard of before, commercial salvage. I don't think midge would do that much damage!

I would rather not spray for any thing..Canterra has one called Cameron coming next yr..Sounds Good..But who knows..
