We had only a few off grades - mostly 2-3% bleach. We dumped some at $9. Hoping for $11 for the rest .

I'm basically sold out. Just a bin left for seed of which I will have some left over to sell.
Silver lining....Sold my carry-over for more than they were paying last summer-early fall. Market was as flat as a pancake too long so when my target price was reached I let them go. Always nice to hit a high but let me know when it is and next time I'll sell them then.
I know guys who sold yellows for $9 off the combine this fall.....everyone has their reasons.
I like the guys who say you'll never go broke selling for a profit. What happens when yeilds are so shitty market prices could never realistically reach profitable levels......then it becomes damage control. And at times like that buyers have trouble understanding our need to maximize price opportunities?
I'm not a toll processor or price plus margin buyer for end users. I take what Mother Nature provides and then what the market gives. The choice in the latter is only yes or no, sometimes you can't say no for various reasons.Last edited by farmaholic; Jan 18, 2016, 22:33.
