Argentine Late Soybean's froze last week?

Argentine Late Soybean's froze last week? According to Martel weather service late seeded soybean's would have been filling last week in Argentina and would have froze.
Freezing temperatures developed last week in Argentina's Buenos Aires province, a month ahead of the normal first fall frost date and producing damage in late-maturing soybeans. Temperatures fell to 28F in central Buenos Aires, cold enough the kill soybeans. It is hard to gauge the impact of a freeze this late in the growing season. We know that double-crop soybeans were sown in early January, based on reports from the Agriculture Minister. These beans would and would have been blooming in March and filling pods in April.
Hm another bumper crop brought to you by mother nature.
Is it just me or is the world in Major Denial. We have hardly any real supply of food left but god help us we cant pay for food oh no but oil yes that's OK. They just found a huge discovery of oil off Brazil of some 33 billion barrels.

They need more oil, U.S. uses about 20 mill a day , China 8 mill and rising. Food not important, few more third world will starve. Food has always been taken for granted in the post WWII world.

agstar you are wrong here, 37 countries have encounterd food roits in the last three weeks. Saskfarmer on the right track, the food shortage is a huge problem right now(wheat/rice), there is no fuel shortage period. There is 1.5timest the oilsands in sask than alberta - not touched. Brazil just announced a huge find, and so did the northern states into Estavan/ known to us for a while. Rusian oil potential is huge - bad politics. This oil shortage b/s is all a political front for Bush to leave office with a war against Iran period!!! A desperate ploy? to keep the U.S. buck afloat and head off a major meltdown- it will fail this time IMO!

Food will be important when riots occur in G7 countries, until then the fight will be about oil.

          G7's?
          Imagine the headlines...

"G8's Fighting for Food in Sumo-riots

Four hundred Canadians with armbands displaying the symbol AG* staged a food riot in front of Parliament Hill on Victoria Day weekend.

Their average weight was 341 pounds.

These Sumo-Rioters threw the food, sent out to them , compliments of the Parliamentary Cafeteria at passers-by.

Alberta beef rib-eye steaks littered the sidewalk, but the real diplomatic problem was caused when the Black Forest Cakes filled with whipping cream were angrily pitched at the Milk Marketing Board delegation lobbying at Parliament Hill.

The sumos complained that the whipping cream's fat content had recently been lowered to unacceptable levels."
