What results is everyone having with Infinity weed spray. I have myself burned some wheat very badly with Horizon/Infinity (plus ammonia sulfate for clever control) Two other neighbors have also burnt barley (puma/infinity) and oats (Infinity) with this product. All three crops look very tough, reps are coming out to have a look. Need some warmer weather to help the crop grow through it. I am suspecting the burn maybe caused by the ammonia sulfate, anyways just a heads up, to watch out.

Spray conditions were good, good moisture , actively growing, 8/imp gallons/acre, for got to mention I had 1/2 rate stratego in the tank mix for leaf disease and that is what seems to have heated the mix up, and burnt the tips of the growing leaves. Half the field did not have the stratego, it lighted the crop color but not burn back the leaves a couple of inches, weed kill action was twice as fast as on the area with the stratego in the mix. I have seen other fields with good results. I like the results of what I have seen of this product last summer, maybe just a few bugs to iron out yet.

In your last post you mention Stratego.Be aware the fungicides have high surfactant additives and will really clean out your loading/spraying equipment. The `burn` you`re seeing may be from added product from a previous chemical.Ammonium sulfate will heat things up too!Be aware!New nozzle types can help chemical/plant contact therefore efficacy.I`m still not sold on rate reduction(too many variables for an across the board recommendation), BUT,in some cases TOO much chemical is exactly that.Registration of many products is still outdated because there are no new nozzle criteria for the legalization of a chemical/application.In the end, the applicator is doing the REAL R and D on the broadest of scales.Your questions/statements to the summer students in the leased vehicles is all used for product development!

hgb, we saw some burn with an Infinity/Puma/half-rate Tilt mix earlier. Nearly everyone i talked to suggested it was likely the Puma and that it just doesn't play well with anything....we had some decent moiture afterwards though and the crop blew right through it. No burn with Puma and either Attain or Prestige on other wheat fields though. At any rate, there doesn't appear to be any long term damage to the crop but with no check strips we'll never know.

hgb at what stage did you spray your crops at. If it was at the 4 leaf i would have to say there would be yield loss at 5-6 you might be ok . Was the ammonium sulphate added just for cleaver control? Ammonium sulphate is moderatly high on the salt index, have you ever tried citric acid and bringing down your ph ? Ammomium sulphate works the same way but you don't need anymore salt added to the crops. And i strongly agree with using up to date nozzles. I good forward/backward combination at the right angles will do really good. No matter what new product or item comes on the market if we can't apply it properly then it may not work at good as it should.
