.........even the first pictures posted? I'd have to agree with aster yellows on the canola pictured against the red shirt(or what ever).

Boys that's aster yellow not disease or drought. Windy years the hoppers blow in from the USA. This year was windy. We lost a big part of our crop in 2012 with these. Lots of you started spraying for disease when it was aster yellow.

Could it be winter off types mixed in your canola seed? Usually from Argentina production.

Is this the aster yellow leaf hopper then?

That looks like a diamond back moth. The leaf hoppers that cause aster yellows hop around like little grass hoppers. We had lots of them here this year but I'm not seeing a lot of aster yellows. It's a weird virus for sure.

That is for sure Aster Yellows. I'm seeing the odd one this year, but nothing like 2012. Those plant won't produce any viable seeds.

In your first photo I'd say partially due to heat blast, but also looks like something else, perhaps viral? Doesn't have the typical aster yellow symptoms though. Maybe herbicide drift? Is it throughout the field or in localized areas of the field?

2nd photo clearly aster yellows. They were really bad in 2012, took my canola from 60+bu stand to 22 bu
