    fertilizer prices etc.

With oil prices passing $55 per barrel does anyone foresee higher input costs for next year? That would probably be a rhetorical question, but I am curious about opinions out there.

Rather than spending money like the americans fighting a war over diminishing supplies we should do what the canadian government ..isn't.. doing and find means of preserving our lifestyle including food production without bankrupting us all.

We're being told urea is a good deal at $420T. What are the rest of you being quoted at this time? When NH3 was over $700 a couple years ago we said too much and backed off, so did the price. Can that happen again or are these stories of off shore purchases driving the market true or an excuse?

375 to 385/tonne for urea picked up before the end of October is the norm in southern alberta. It may pay to shop around a 45/t difference will pay for a lot of trucking!!!

I'm going with more clover and alfalfa in rotation. Be happy, that will leave more of the fertilizer for those that have to afford it.
