    cabbage seedpod weevil

    could somebody tell me when the best time to spray for cabbage seedpod weevil in canola is? My crop is just starting to flower, however there was very uneven germination this spring and a large percentage of the plants are still quite immature.Any advice would be appreciated.

    The best time to spray for the CPS weevil is from the late bud to early flowering stage to prevent egg laing in newly formed pods. Spray late in the day to minimize effects on pollinators and beneficial insects. To date, there is only an emergency use registration for Decis in canola for the CPS weevil.
