    Nitrogen Prices Update

Just back from a meeting in Florida which was sponsored by a Fert. Company.
Looks like most Fert. Plants in USA are shutting down or Closed. There is continued Cheap off Shore Nitrogen that is Crushing the Local price of Nitrogen and therefore they cant Compete.
Looks like most Canadian and American Suppliers will be using Foreign Nitrogen in the next few years at lower prices, how much lower once they get their hands on it now that's another question.

i was told that half of US nitrogen comes from off shore markets already, more so for the future with gas costs and electricity where they are....we need to find comeptitive ways get the offshore stuff into our local markets, we have all kinds of infrastructure to get grain to the coast, little to get fert back....would all have to come from gulf of Mex i think....in Brazil and Argentina the rail sits idle where they have it and convertibles haul the gcrops to the ocean so they can all backhaul whatever from the coast....we should be backhauling fert in grain cars from our own costal ports.......sure the big boys ( what is left of our fert inustry) will be using their infrastructure to move off shore notrogen in the very near future, we will need new distribution players to keep the market honest...such as large buying groups of farmers that can take delivery of their own boat loads....12500 tonne min contracts and terms can be managed with todays large scale operators working together...strategically
