    CDC Imagine HRSW

$10.50/tn sounds great, but the price of the seed and chem is more than the net return over HRSW if you don't need the grassy weed control. Maybe anouther outlet for your HRSW though. Anyone try it in 05? At $20-25/tn it may be feasible to spend the extra on seed and chem. At least with HWSW(snowbird) you did not have to buy expensive chem.

Ron, CDC Imagine is a specialty wheat that the Sask Wheat Pool is offering producers. There is a $10/ton premium for it if it meets certain standards. I looked in to it seed is $8.00/bus, and all in all after factoring extra chemical etc. Not that great of a deal.

The herbicide program for CDC Imagine is great if you have group 1 resistant wild oats, as many of us in this area have.

Seed man buy your name you are a seed grower who will push a useless new variety that only gives profit to seed companys and grain companys.
The amount of group two wildoats in saskatchewan is minimal to yield loss. Average farmer this is not a major problem and if one direct seeds wildoats is a minimal weed.
          Good sales pitch though.

You are right, I am a seed grower. However, I have never grown CDC Imagine, and likley never will grow it. Because of the ownership of the variety, I definitely will not ever be in a position to sell it either. However, I have some neighbours with serious group 1 resistant wild oat problems, and CDC Imagine works very well for them. It is strictly an agronomic issue for them.
