    Agrotain and seed placed fertilizer

Anyone use at least 65 pounds or more of actual N coated with Agrotain seed placed? Single shoot all the fert, N,P,K,S in one pass with the seed and a narrow opener. Heard some farmers have had great success, but also include soil type and moisture conditions if you could.

At 5 cents per pound of N, less disturbance, easier pulling, single shoot, it seems like a good approach. I use double shoot right now.

Have a neighbour that uses single shoot in a 2 inch band at 54 lbs of actual N. He has never had any issues. Mabye this new product with allow higher rates without worry? Don't know of anyone using it around here.

Thanks. A few more questions if you don't mind. Do most retailers offer this product? From what I understand, this product has to be custom applied at the fertilizer plant it is coming from. Or are farmers doing it on farm?

My local fert dealer does it. Urea first, applies inhibitor, adds the rest of the blend. He's a smallish dealer, but don't know the availability of service of other dealers.
