Versatile 2200 hoe drills& field peas

Does anyone know if field pea seed will pass throught the Versatile 2200's seed cup without damaging the seed? With the star gear metering system I'm worried I'll end up having pea meal instead of seed in the ground.

Knew a guy that direct seeded peas for a couple of years with a 2200. He never said anything bad about the metering system but has since traded his drill. At any rate a small amount of mechanical damage isn't the end of the world. Treat with apron and seed slightly heavier. Good Luck

If seed damage is a concern, why not take a small amount of seed and run it though the metering seed cup by hand and catch the seed in a container and then see what sort of damage occurs.
