If RR Bin run Canola is a no-no. What about LL or CL Canola?

Depends if there is patented genetics and or techniques in the variety and the holder of the patent wants them protected.

In the case of Liberty hybrids the event is the MS8RF3 gene which ensures sterility. Because of that you can not legally save and reuse F2 from a Bayer Liberty like 5020, 2663, etc.

Sure wish the companies would spend some dollars informing growers of intellectual property protection instead of all those dumba$$ commercials they run all the time.

I thought that the problem with bin run RR canola was the technology agreement, not the keeping of your own seed. LL and CL canola don't have the same problem, and varities such as Independance work well. I am not convinced Independance canola can't yield the same as Invigor, but does the chemical company want us to know that?

Both LL and RR and even some CL contain patent protected technology which allows the holder of the patent to impart limits on the user of their technology.

In english, they own it, you borrow it, you follow their rules, or don't use it. This is how the rest of the world works, not just seed companies.

Of course you can always hire a lawyer and test these laws.
