    9600 concaves

I have a choice to make. Current JD mechanic says to replace concave, current freelance ex-JD mechanic says wait. However, current freelance ex-JD mechanic doesn't grow wheat, so he admits that a wheatgrower might want a crisper concave.

Any thoughts on replacement? I've now got a concave sitting in the shed that I have a bit of doubt about taking the time to install. I realize I'm making lots of question posts lately, but looking for any tips you may have.

On an unrelated note, my first (and likely only) experience with 'Greenlight' is poor.

If you have any interest in making your 9600 better, you should have a look at Precision Farm Parts out of North Dakata. You might shy away once you find out how much money it is to make all the upgrades on a john deere (more expensive than a rotory), but from our experience with our 1480, it will no doubt be money very well spent. We run a 7721 as well as the 1480, and if we had anymore acres, or grain prices were as high as they were last year, I might consider doing something to the JD as well since it does a better job of seeding than our air seeder.
