I do not use it but I have friends that do and they love it. I am going to purchase it this spring and will also get a palm to go with it.

Thanks for the input nw9flynn I guess a person could download the trial version and see how it works. Then you would know if you should spend the 300 bucks or not.

Have had the FieldMaster and FieldMate for three years now.Really like the FieldMaster, FieldMate is of little value to me as I only had one Palm and it never seemed to be in the machine I was in, also no good way to keep it clean ( fine dust on it and then would scratch the screen etc.) Also a pain to enter info into. My advice for what it's worth get the FieldMaster and then go to Staples or ??????? and buy how ever many day planners you need to have one in every machine use that to record your field activities, gather them up once a month or on a rainy day and enter your data into FieldMaster, much simpler and you also have a hard copy of your data.

I'm exactly opposite of dave I'm afraid, I wouldn't go without the field mate and the palm because thats the nicest part of the system to be able to hotsync the palm everynight and know your record keeping is done. But to each his own.
