I have run that system on an eagle 8400 for a couple years - I am not an expert but what is the question?

I used this system this past year and thought it worked great. What do you want to know about it?

Sorry, that I gave no details. I am running a custom build 80' high clearance sprayer, pulltype with 600 gal tank. Worked great for 12 years, but I need more capacity, so I am working on building a 80' sprayer with hydr. fold etc. with 1100 gal tank. The boom leveling should be controled by the Norac UC3 and I am looking for info on reliability, handling etc. With $7000 investment I like to know if it is worth the money.

Whether or not it is worth $7000 is debatable. Generally speaking, it was reliable, worked fairly well, and reduced operator stress and fatigue significantly. It does not react fast enough for major terrain changes like ditches but can manage most general field conditions. Service and follow up from Norac is poor. They upgraded a $2000 piece of their system shortly after I bought the system and they did not offer any kind of upgrade deal. The other issue to check is compatibility between your hydraulics and their system. If your system is not fast enough, the norac won't help much.

Hello Farmar ( and others on UC3), my reasoning for the UC3 is the following: my present boom with 80', about 600 lbs weight, manual fold, self leveling, works A1, but if I go to a hydr. fold, my weight will increase to a level where, the steel mass of the contstuction will override the self leveling of the boom.

This is why Brandt, Flexocoil and other have to have thuse silly wheels on the booms.

UC3 would and should eliminate any self leveling constructional design and free the operator to look after driving and other functions. Particularlly with pulled type sprayer, I have found that it is quite tiring to look back to manually over hydrauliks control the boom hight.

My max. spraying speed is about 10 km and I am meeting with the Norac people later this month and look for questions etc.

seems we have 2 conversations going (pea seed).
At that speed and that boom length, the hieght control will work great - no question. We were using it fairly successfully at 14 miles/hr on 100' booms. It will definitely be a huge benefit to your operator.
