    8780 MF Combine

I am looking at a used 8780 MF combine . Would like to here from anyone who uses this type of combine as to its good and bad points. I have always used a 1480 IH so am not familiar with the MF My reason for looking at the MF is the low hours and the price is right.

MF combines in the last 8 years or so have been very reliable with few breakdowns...Not a very common combine though, have you looked into 2188 case's that or a 9600?

i was told the fergie wasn't a bad machine

does a good job in corn, the rotor is larger in diameter than the axial flow and only spins at 200rpm for corn, pretty gentle machine.....we looked round one on a neighbours farm, he had it cause the lease was cheap, i liked the machine, it was big, but simple, and looked quiet easy to work on

am told the white/oliver 9700 combine was the predicesor to the fergie, they used the same rotor, the 9700 was a head of its time, had a rotor 32 inchs longer than the axial flow, and had a greater cleaning surface area then the 9750 deere and the axial flow

wonder what the unloading auger capacity was like,.....the 9700 was huge

you need to go hang out at the combine talk show,
