    New McCormick tractors

Does anyone have one the new
    McCormick tractors? I'm looking into
possibly buying one, but I haven't
    heard much about them, especially
    interested in price.

Talked to the rep at Agritrade in '01, they are supposed to be identical to the CaseIH Magnum i believe only with a different engine. Workers bought a CaseIH plant in europe, continued making the tractor but under a different name. Dont quote me but I think they put a perkins engine in it, but I'm not 100% positive of that.

I'm really sold on the CIH MX line and the Mccormicks are the same basic tractor. So if I was buying a new one today I would consider a McCormick before purchasing a new CIH MXM.(as the MXM's do not impress me) We have never had a Perkins diesel on our farm so I don't have an opinion on them. At Agri-trade the McCormick's had a poorer seat than CIH put in them, maybe there is a better option available. I know of a couple of CIH MX's around our area with 7000 hours on now and only regular maintance done. (fast electronic hour meters on MX models as 1 hour is clocked every 45 minutes)

McCormick and Landini are owned and distributed in Canada by the same company.

For more information on the McCormick history I would get a hold of your dealer and they can help you. I sell Landini in Sk. and am not sure of all the history on the McCormick lines.

If you are not sure of who your dealer is call 1 888 524 2228 and that dealership can help locate.

            nuthin wrong with the tractor

            i know of someone with a mtx100c

they sold a bunch in New Zealand, the only concern is ya local dealers, ie. do you have one, to me, that would make or break the decision to own one.......especially if it is a high use machine

Dealer support is always important but with these tractors most parts would be available from local CIH dealer, as alot of parts are the same as the Maxum MX series. (except engine parts)

I'm not worried about dealer support,
we already own Case/IH tractors and
have to drive 50kms to get parts for
them. Thanks for all your comments
                guys you've been a big help! I
                thought the McCormick tractors
looked alot like Case! I'm quite
curious to see what the price
                difference is!
