    CIH or JD tractor

    Looking for a small 4wd for my airseeder. I am thinking either Case 9330 or JD 8570. I found a 8570 with 12 speed trans for a reasonable price so I am leaning towards JD.

    Pros and cons on these tractors????

    Thanks.

    How about an 846 Versatile. Not much money,good power,cheap to fix and no unnecessary bells and whistles to screw up. Get a bigger model if you need more than 240 and not the powershift if it was still available. Can't remember on that one... What's your budget allow?

      I was on tractordata.com and I see the JD's are quite a bit heavier than the CaseIH's.

      Will the 846 run a airseeder fan without modifying the hydraulics??

      Looking to spend around $50k for a tractor.

        Yes it can as Snake is running his no problem. I think 50k should get you a nice one. I believe my 9280 is the same in that department.Also had an 846 before what I have now.The L10 Cummins is a good engine and ecconomical(sp) to run.

          I ran currently own an 8560 used to be our main 4wd tractor now we use for harrowing.

          have owned from 2500-5500 hours and has been an excellent tractor.

          problems;
          hyd pump blew up which was common on 60 series i believe fixed on 70 series

          various hoses hyd hoses under the cab

          had most of the hyd remotes rebuilt

          overall it has been an excellent tractor

          You are right on the weight they are very heavy for the power i have orig. 20.8s on mine.
