I have a Flexicoil 5000 air drill fitted with Anderson Openers attached to Dutch Knives on 12" shanks. The air drill has seeded approximately 10,000 acres on grey-wooded clay soil. The base plates of the Anderson Openers are worn round at the outer edges, and some of the small circular openings on the stainless steel ammonia delivery tubes
are now oblong.
1. Should the metal base plates on the Anderson Openers be replaced or built up with beads of weld?
2. Should the worn oblong holes of the stainless steel tubes that are attached to the Dutch Knives for delivery of ammonia be built up with beads of weld, or should the tubes be replaced?
