Is it just me or are Equipment Dealers ripping us off.

Just got some quotes and find it funny how the book list full retail price for air drills or tractor is the price the dealer comes with. Then he takes auction price for your piece and takes off 12 - 25%. So example
3 yr flexicoil loaded 57 ft big tank monitors var etc. on new bourgault parallel link 75ft with big tank missing boots and monitor.

New cash 280,000 trade 199,000 Basically Their giving me 80 grand for my three year old drill.
Then on a new 9630 loaded
    Cash 260
they haven't came back yet because I have a way lowered hour 9520 than they have on the lot and theirs has new tires because it was a US sc****r tractor.
Final conclusion it will be cheaper to get another used air drill and tractor for same difference as trading my tractor and drill on new.
    SAD really.
Their not really dealers any more, their more like walmart here is the price take it or leave it.

they know you have the money so they want a piece. it's free market capitalism, doncha know? same as widening basis as canola price goes up. really i don't know what you expect; they have to take advantage of good times too. look around at the number of dealerships that have closed down and you know it hasn't been all roses for them either.

Whatever you do, hang on to your 3 yr old air seeder until the new one arrives. A friend of mine ordered a new Bourgault last year and still doesnt have it, the waiting list is that long. He ended up having to use a loaner from the dealership this spring.

Sent back a counter offer and got really pssed with them. Dropped the difference by 50000 and their recalculating it. We kept them in Business in rough years, And this is how you repay me.
        New Quote coming Monday.

Our old drill doesn't leave farm till new one arrives. I have to give a 10000 bond. that's OK

One other comment these new supper dealers where a group own 10 stores is a real joke.

What do you mean missing boots and monitor?
This year I traded up to a new seedmaster 66' from a 10 year old 5710 for 70 grand. Keeping the old tank and transferring the anhydrous and installing a second air kit I had when I origionally purchased the 5710 to the seedmaster. The drill worked good with little to no problems, but I believe your parallink will pull out less rocks.

The 9620 at Saskatoon RB sale sold for 225,000 500hrs. So a new 1999 9630 is 260? What was the guy thinking?
