The method of solar energy storage already exists....its called wood, coal, crude oil, even straw....some even renewable like straw, wood to a "slower" degree and coal and crude considered non renewable....even in the long term.
Now storing wind energy is challenging.
Harvesting the kinetic energy of moving water...like bucket says...probably not being used to its full potential.
Reliability, efficiency, are paramount in our part of the world. Who wants black outs or brown outs?
Go ahead, continue the work on making the alternative as reliable and efficient as the tried and true sources of energy we use today, but in the meantime don't punish us for not having the new alternative ready before you want to phase out the old.
