Well I remember hearing about this but I just saw the first ad for them(unless they've been out for a while and I never noticed). Isn't this the billboard tycoon dude who decided to invest in retail John Deere farm machinery stores? There's quite a list of locations.


Is the farm machinery business that lucrative? Shop rates have hit the stratosphere. Every thing from the detailer, wrench pullers, lead hand, shop foreman, service writer, a separate parts counter and staff dedicated to only the shop, Principals. ...they all have to be paid out of that $135-$150/hr shop rate. Geez with a list like that you have to wonder if they're charging enough! Belly laughing lol.....

Very few Ma and Pa shops around....mostly AGCO if they are.
Consolidation industry wide "serving" a bunch of independant thinking and acting farmers.....hmmmmm....

Funny thing is happening in our area. Lots are starting to shop around. Some left the club to buy Class combines and some are pricing at independent dealers not associated with Pattison. We just purchased two pieces that were demos and didn't need to dealer protect and give it to them.

Sorry get in the game or have no sales.

The few who remain will get stronger hopefully they stay in the game. Other wise maybe its time for a Cat or Class or Case or Versatile.

Deer might have nice paint buy when bearings on a combine don't last because they are garbage ....I don't think it takes long before people get sick of the excuses....selling overpriced parts and being installed at stupid shop rates are going to start hurting some deere dealers.

Around here the flow away from deer combines has mostly been performance related . Lexion taking the lions share.
Also Pattison does very little in terms of community sponsorship locally, and or at starting to have an effect.

Yes the Class combines are coming on strong. Few guys locally traded NHs off and got Class. Other friend took a Class Cash no trade and kept his 9770.

Times are changing and deere better get their shit together or sales will drop.

Claas will push them combines out the door just to buy market share. I'm not saying they're no good, but once again, parts and service with dealer support will dictate where they end up. SF3...hell would have to freeze over and the devil learn to skate before you ever consider another color combine! Come clean now!

Many green tractors at the red lots. Trading mostly because of dollars.
Versatile way cheaper if buying new because of the cnd dollar.
Redhead melfort took a large amount of green lately..18 and still counting as more green guys wanting to get in to the Red Club.

Time will tell how the local Lexion Dealer will do . We have dealt with them in the past and they have been very good .
But 35 or more new combines this fall out of a dealership that is only 2 years old here is an eye opener.
will be interesting to see how they keep up with service .
The combines have very much proven themselves, but the new dealer has been far more aggressive than the ole Kramer Cat b/s .

Funny how many long time maple clients are shopping or shifting to neutral and getting ready to exit stage right. 7 sold just under 400000 a quarter

Whether I am right or wrong in this feeling , It seems to me that once a dealership group manages to buy out all the competition they stop competing. Are more interested in big multi deals to a few than dealing with the many. Also the other manufacturer color bounty programs are a complete slap in the face to loyal customers. Planning on asking for a demo on a Claas for fall 17. Find the corporate lack of respect for the customers that have long supported the brand to be pretty insulting. Bought millions of dollars of equipment here over the last number of years and when you get a letter thanking you for your purchase and saying " Welcome to the John Deere Experience" it just shows that they have no idea who you are or how many generations your family has been part of the "John Deere experience"
Still have a John Deere plow my Great Grandfather used on this land over 100 years ago. Want to send them a picture of it and some smart ass response to their sad little letter.

Seeing more claas combines in mb too. Here they are the best in small grains, not so good on beans, peas, corn.
