I was wondering if anyone knew how well a corn head would work with sunflowers?

I did some checking for you, and ended up contacting the National Sunflower Association of Canada. Here is their response to your question: 'It depends on the type of corn header that would be used. The CaseIH header wouldn't work as it is a mower header that pulls the corn plant down and cobs are pulled off. Losses would be huge with sunflowers (shattering). There is a JD header called an all crop header that works in corn and sunflower, it uses belts that pulls the plant into the header. Generally traditional corn heads do not work well in flowers as the shattering losses are too great.'
