I see Alberta Ag has posted an update on their website late today regarding the calf set aside RFID ear tags.
Paragraph one is sticking to yesterday's story that scheme tags will have pink backs and be available in 3-4 weeks time. Paragraph two indicates that tags may be available starting October 4th because the tag manufacturers have tags in stock - but they are white not pink backed. These are approved tags for the set-aside scheme apparently but not to be confused with any of the other RFID tags that may be available for the January 1st move to electronic tagging. I hope someone tells the retailers of this set up - it looks like there is plenty room for confusion and mistakes to be made.
