    used tractor purchase ?

Hello. Must change out mid sized unit. Has anyone had any issues with CaseIh 7120,30,40. John Deere 7800s 4450s or bigger. (MFWD) Reccomendations welcome. If CAISP pays. sub $50k range.

The CIH 7100/7200 series tractors are a very reliable work horses and compare to JD 4440's for durability and longevity.

You might be better off to check something newer......bought a MTX 140 McCormick just off lease for a good price.Seems to be a good unit.More tractor than I wanted but certainly has a heavy enough front axle for those BIG bales!!Repairs on undersized newer stuff will make you puke.

I have put 6500hrs on a 7110 that had 1300 on when I got it. Had to change one front u joint and some shifting linkages. Nothing but routine maintenance. Probably wouldn't have had to do the shifting but it packs about 2000T of silage every year and is our only loader tractor.
I also broke a PTO shaft off which was my fault. Here's a big benefit if you do a lot of PTO work. You can have the PTO out and apart on the shop floor in a couple of hours on the case. Not sure about the newer deeres but the older ones(30 40 50 series) were apparently a major rebuild to get into the PTO to do a clutch or anything. Talk to your deere shop forman first, that's what sold me on the case.
