Vesatile 2200 hoe drills & field peas

Does anyone know if field pea seed will pass through the seed cups without damage to the seed on the Versatile 2200 hoe drills? I'm worried the star gear metering system will make pea meal out of the seed.

The bottoms of the seed cups (called seed gates) are adjustable in these drills and if dropped to the open most position should seed peas with no problem. There are a few of these drills in my area besides mine and they have seeded quite a few acres of peas with good results. Most of these peas seeded have been Chicks, both Kabulis and Desi's. Hope this helps.
