there are two states in australia that have a ban on gm crops our being one of them.

there lots of talk in others states about contamination and court cases etc but always always is as torm in a tea cup and gm crop growers win, and the non gm guys are the antagonistic ones. i as i stated take litttle interest as i doubt i will grow so my opinion as always is worth zilch. i shouldnt have even commented sorry.

Tillage is a very much greater problem... than herbicide resistence... the loss of our top few inches of soil with destroy civilisation. Herbicides have saved our soils, air, and provided plenty of good safe food... to the point were we are living a very very long time.

Two Canadian farmers are in Australia to warn grain growers against genetically modified wheat.

The Greenpeace-backed delegation says that Australia won't be able to find a market for the product.

Peter Eggers is a grains and livestock farmer from Alberta, Canada, and says GM wheat would contaminate conventional seed.

"Experience has shown with other genetically modified constructs that segregation and co-existence is not possible and sooner or later, and rather sooner actually, you will see that all seed sources will somehow be affected."
