Same old story Klaus if based on supply demand and the fact areas that buy our product are wanting our product badly it should be a 11 to 12 dollar game but its like every other commodity that does not have transparent market and when you are dealing with governments of other countries that set prices based largely on trade deals who knows.

Harvest is usually not the best time to sell special crops. Wait a couple of months. All the forward-sold contracts are waiting.

Kind of agree with both comments, peas are th one crop that took a shit kicking from the shitty weather!

Prices are pretty decent currently. You never know when the buyers will disappear. I think the demand is a little more elastic, if prices get too high the demand will start to slide. Might be easier to get another $1 out of wheat or canola than peas.

There is a camp that believes the yellow pea production is overstated. Carry over is low. The demand is expected to be strong from India, however increased production from the Baltic states may keep the lid on this market but the current trading range is pretty decent for sure. However my expectation is that yellows will continue to trade over greens with a possible widening gap depending upon final harvest results.

In reality peas need to be closer in value to canola and this year could be the year see this gap close at least for yellow peas. Greens, well the final deals will depend on harvest quality, however higher levels of carry over on both sides of the pond is limiting price driving demand.

Greens here close to 25. Lots of greens grown in this area.
