1 st pea plot off

Not the big one , just a seed placed starter with nodulator.
1 Tagteam - no fert - 37 bus /ac
2. Alpine / Nodulator - 43 bus/ac
The nodulator was just mixed in with Alpine just before seeding plots . You have 4 hrs with direct mixing .
Also virtually no root rot in the alpine strip.
Was just going to do 2 nd plot of the same thing on anouther field when the chopper went on me.
This was done with a weigh wagon to verify results and make sure the combine yeild was close. It was - combine showed 4499 lbs on first plot and weigh wagon was 4500 - close enough for me . The second plot was 5065 lbs on weigh wagon and 5060 on the combine - again close enough for me to know the combine yeild was accurate . There are those who don't believe combine monitors - we don't trust 100 % either but it's easy to check with weigh wagon in the feild .
The big Rack Plot will be done this week - depending on weather - that inch if rain was not wanted at all here .

Did you replicate in multiple strips?

Sorry - I don't run an experimental farm .
I split one field and did that 120 ft strip on the other . It was easily visible all year in both feilds.
I am not publishing data or am I selling Alpine - just ran a few tests after a last years root rot disaster.

The plots the Rack have are replicated multiple times at three diff locations - all with products they sell at their locations . But they also spent over $200,000 on plot equip to do it and have their own plant scientists and a whole crew if agrologist's compiling the data . Their data will be similar at the end of the day on starter fert with peas at seeding .

How many actual pounds of P did you put down? Your pea air seeder is single shoot? Not surprised by your results. Been putting a starter blend down for quite a few years now. 11-35-0-8. Something along those lines.

4 gal / ac alpine - about 8 actual .
Yes the pea drill is a single shoot.
We used our other drill for the side by side
Years ago we seen very little diff , along with several neighbours with starter fert with peas.
I was not surprised either given the higher disease presure lately and shorter rotations - we went from 4 yrs to 3 yrs . And yes we shoulda been doing it a few years back

Tried some foliar Alpine this year. 4 reps in canola and 4 reps in pea field. Haven't harvested either field yet, but so far there is no visual differences detected.

Both fields were soil tested and fertilized up to recommendations at seeding time, which may explain why there is no visual response from a foliar application.

This had nothing to do with foliar alpine , just thought I would share the info as part of the whole root rot issue, no foliar will help root rot
Farm ranger , please post results good or not after you harvest on those foliar apps - will be interesting to see .

In your 'big' plot did you happen to compare a plot with proper fertilizer in it?
