Upcoming Webinars To Focus On Pest Potential For 2008 Growing Season
Pulse Canada and the CWB are working together to inform Western Canadian growers about the potential significant pest issues that may unfold this summer. Through funding provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Pesticide Risk Reduction Program, the two organizations will be hosting three webinars over the next three weeks.
Farmers are invited to log on and attend these important online sessions to hear the latest information on wheat midge and grasshoppers. The webinars will focus on what growers need to know to control these pests including how to scout and when to spray. Scott Hartley, Provincial Insect Specialist with the Saskatchewan Department of Agriculture, and Dan Johnson from the University of Lethbridge, will lead the sessions. Farmers will not want to miss these webinars that will focus on how to control these insects via Integrated Pest Management techniques.
