Read Robert Arnason's article in the WP
on page 4. According to the article many
    Manitoba farmers are considering a
lawsuit because they have not been paid
for their grain that was delivered. The
    company entered creditor protection
    after the grain was delivered.According
to Barry Wilson's article on page 14
there will be tens of millions of
dollars in increased farmer user fees.He
also states that the current bonding
system to protect farmer deliveries if
companies go bankrupt would be changed
to an insurance system. I think all
farmers should know how this will affect
us when we make deliveries. Is there a
cost to farmers for this insurance
    system?I'm sure these Manitoba farmers
    are very concerned.Many farmers that
I've talked to would like to know what
    Gord Bacon,Humphrey Banack and Richard
White had to say regarding these
    significant changes as Barry Wilson
    describes them.

      Grower99,

As a grower who has been very involved in producer security for decades... as I stated above... we may end up with the best of all worlds; from the changes being brought in by this new CGAct legislation. Here is hoping the CGC Commissioners head in that direction.

Is it true... that Robert just sold his land?

The real questions are: % of bankabiltiy what leve of risk will be covered: 70%/80%/90%/100%; and how will premiums be calculated.

With changing global conditions risk management efficiencies make change necessary, and desirable for all players. To their credit the CGC and the G of C read the writing on the wall and responded accordingly. This was not a take it or leave it option, and to the credit of Gordon Bacon the concern he raises is one which would recognize the need to enable a competitive insurance model for companies of all sizes. Enabling competition I am going to assume is a producer friendly concept.

Oh gee better be politically correct even if it appears out of style these days, so I qualify my statement: RAREARTH you bring a lot of points worthy of discussion.

I hope that we are moving in the direction
that will benefit the industry in general.
However my question remains:what were the
statements made by these three gentlemen
and were these statements supported by
their stakeholders? If they were not I am
suggesting there may be a disconnect
between them and their boards/grass roots.
                      The speaking notes please.

Sometimes someone who is trying to do good for the industry gets in the line of fire. Anyone who has ever stood for something can relate.

This is a clear case of this: the reality is the changes were eminent. Gordon was advising on process which would enable a competitive and fair environment, as he is known to do.

As for your point about relating with stakeholders I do agree, decisions are made without consultation by boards of directors which is the reason why the selection of a board is so critical to the future of an industry.

Grower99 wants to hide behind a fake
name and take a little bit of info out
of the media and try to turn it into a
issue. He still hasn't called. I have
the notes, I have the presentation. You
have had 24 hours and you still have not
                          called.

Does a ceo of a major organization decide
on his/her own to appear in front of a
parliamentary or senate committee or is
this decision and its message made after
                            consultation with the organization's
stakeholders. One would hope that the
appearance at the meeting and the message
would have been thoroughly discussed in
                            advance.

So you are asking if CSCA directors knew and
approved of the presentation that Gord gave at
this meeting? The answer to that is yes. And at
that meeting the first thing he said was that he
                              was there to represent CSCA.

Come on, you can do it, call me. I have the
speaking notes. Of course you don't want to have
a discussion about what was ACTUALLY
discussed at the meeting do you. I find it funny
that the last time grower99 posted under that
name was during the last SPG election a yr ago.

I also want to point out as a PULSE CANADA director, we get weekly reports on the activities, press releases are sent out, speaking notes are circulted, the the board prior to PULSE CANADA making any statements or appearances on our behalf. Gordon Bacon insists the organization is very accountable to the board of directors, who are elected by the organizations he speaks for. FYI this is VICKI DUTTON
