    Peas, barley, oats getting punted?

    Localy canola seed sales are jumping as farmers are punting these crops in favor of canola. Is this hapening everywhere? Local fall prices were as high as $8.20/bus for fall recently.

      Rain;

      It looks like Crop Insurance will drop coverage on many "special crops" in 2004.

      My guess is Wheat will be the BIG winner. CWRS will take the biggest acreage, but CPS will also pick up big acres. Caps, and deindexing, will Kick out many "minor crops" as it is near impossible to develop a decent index that covers costs on new crops with 04 changes.

      It is astounding that AFSC did this.

        cwrs and the new hard whites will be up in this area, a lot a producers talking FPC contracts.
        But the main concern will be grass hoppers by the millions, so it may not matter what we grow, hopefully this moisture trend continues to be possitive, it may help.
        Tom, CPS wheat has been an absolute disaster in this area for three years but with the announcement of the ethonal plant at Lloyd some producers are rethinkin CPS acres.
