I must be feeling good today. The calves are coming good; the weather is decent, and our government hasn't done anything outrageously stupid lately!! So today I'd like to aknowledge what a good job our auction markets do! Now I may be biased because I have two excellent marts within a few miles of me! Innisfail Auction...owner Jack Daines and Burnt lake Auction...owner Neilson bros. Manager Mel Glencross ! They do an excellent job at fairly reasonable prices. It is very easy to market cattle in central Alberta with such top notch cattle people!!!

I can't believe nobody responded to your love for the biggest rip-off in the beef business. Nobody ever "markets" cattle at the auction barn. All you do is "sell" them there. The games played at the sales ring are otherworldly. The only people that need to sell at the barn are tose who don't really believe in their own cattle and not are really prepaired to stand behind their performance. If you trully have better than average cattle, it's an easy days drive to stop in at litterly dozens of feedyards that would trully be interested in quality calve and be more than willing to make a deal. Especially if you can provide a report card for the calves. Then inseveral years of marketing in this manner you could do it all from home with a fax machine without paying commission and doing everything possible to make tose calves sick.
