    Alberta Advantage?

While watching the news last night I saw a story on the strike at Superstore in Edmonton. Seems the workers want $2 over two years. Sounds pretty reasonable, right? Superstore is offering $1 over SEVEN years! Works out to about 14 cents a year!
Now Alta. school teachers want a two year raise of $11.45/hr. Klein offered them $3.78/hr. This is based on a wage of $63,000/yr. and 1100 hrs./yr. Which are the actual numbers. I know teachers like to go on about how they do all this work at home thing...sure wish I could use that story when I do contract work for the oil co.!!!
What I think Ralph should do is first of all forget about taxing all the nicotene addicts to death. One of these guys is going to shoot him! Second forget about soaking us more for health care premiums when we are the only province(other than that basket case B.C.) that even pay a premium! Third is let our old people have their false teeth and glasses...we don't need a bunch of old blind gummers driving on our roads!
The solution is simple: hire Superstore to negotiate all contracts with teachers and other government workers!!! I guess a 14 cents raise would be a pretty good reality check for the teachers!!

You are saying the checkout boy at Safeway should teach your kids? We could I guess put little bar codes on their heads, send em off to school and have then scanned when they arrive, scanned when they leave and we could pay for the time they were being educated with our debit cards.....

Sounds good to me! As long as it cut my school taxes down. My neighbor homeschools his kids and they are way ahead of where they should be. I figure with computers and the proper software we could get rid of about 80% of teachers and schools. They are expendable.
