    Putting Canada Last

Last. That's exactly where Canada is going to be when this new policy is in place.I watched an interesting episode of country Canada the other day about the whole gmo debate. The show stated that our bone headed gov't is cost sharing research with Moncrappo in developing new gmo technology. They seem to be ignoring the fact that many of our export customers do not want to buy these products. They are also ignoring the fact that many farmers see the dangers in the technology and do not want it.Where does that leave farmers?Forced to use technology they do not want and very few markets in which to sell our commodities.

Who makes our gov't so smart? What makes them think that if they say that the technology is safe that they are right and the rest of the world is wrong? Why do they expect to convince the rest of the world it is safe and expect them to buy our products after they have clearly stated that they do not want them?Do they have a plan to put the broken pieces of rural Canada back together when their experiment fails? And finally, how do I go about getting 5 minutes alone with vanclief?

If you don't like what Monsanto is doing with GMO technology...just quit buying their products. There are other alternatives to their Round-up and certainly a great number of canola and other seed varities.
This is a decision that each and every consumer of their products must make.
As far as the Gov't is concerned...What do they know about agriculture? It is just a pesky problem that won't go away.

Wilagro,I don't use their products and never will.If things were as simple as not using their products I wouldn't have a problem. The problem is that people ARE using the stuff and that is effecting me and limiting MY options as to where I can sell MY production. If I have to lose some canola markets I guess I'll just suck it up.It's the next thing on the horizon that scares me.That being RR wheat.
