County taxes?

What are your land taxes doing this year? Supposedly in my county they are going down...if the school portion doesn't go through the roof. The amazing thing is just how little farm land contributes to the total tax haul. 10%!!
Residental-35% businesses-30% oil leases and pipelines-15%. So I guess it's not to hard to see who's paying the bills!
My county privatized all the work out two years ago and it seems to be working. Unfortunately they didn't keep going in regards to the office staff and they have grown larger. Also they seem to think they need a new administration building, with all the bells and whistles!

Isn't it amazing cowman that with all the advances in computorized systems that we need more people and fancier buildings to handle the administration. It just drives me around the bend but nothing I can do but bitch. lol

It is a sad fact that bureaucracies like to grow. In government or producer groups or corporations. Soon the bureaucracy is so far out of touch with the common man that they become bizarre.

Doesn't sound good so far. The local health unit has announced that their budget is going up 27%, this is an appointed board that has authority to set their own budget and the local municipalities don't have any choice but to send them the money. Province also downloaded ambulance and police services to the local municipalities about a year ago and they're all going up again.
