Once again we have an arrogant federal government telling us they will do things however they please. Albertas' position was just thrown in the garbage can and we were told to toe the line. Now we all want to save the earth for the little owls etc. but this is a joke! The US is not joining Kyoto. We join we lose! As simple as that. This has nothing to do with global warming but with wringing more dollars out of you and me(incidently we could sure use some global warming out here in Alberta this spring!). I wonder if our spineless provincial government will stand up to the crooks in Ottawa and say NO! Interesting times ahead? Maybe the start of our independence? Free at last?

You are right, the whole Kyoto thing is rather scary. It is amazing to me that the feds would so willingly jump on the bandwagon while knowing full well that it will cost us billions in fines. I think the Americans have it right this time - better to keep the money going to useless fines invested in your own country.
